About Nought Tactics
The three-by-three grid you already know, paired with an opponent that plays it perfectly on hard — a full search of the game tree, no shortcuts. Every hard game you do not lose is a draw well earned. Normal makes occasional human mistakes if you would rather actually win sometimes.
How to play
- Take turns claiming squares; three in a line wins.
- Hard is unbeatable by design, so a draw is the best result available.
- Wins, draws and losses are tallied for the session.
Tips from the people who built it
- Open in the centre. It sits on four of the eight winning lines.
- If the computer opens in the centre, answer in a corner, never an edge.
- Watch for forks — one move that creates two threats is the only way to win.
