Privacy Policy

Last updated July 20, 2026 · Applies to gamerspotter.com

GamerSpotter Interactive Inc. ("we", "us") operates gamerspotter.com. We are a Canadian company based in Vancouver, BC, and we handle personal information in accordance with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and its ten fair information principles, together with applicable provincial privacy legislation.

The short version: this website has no accounts, no logins and no advertising trackers. The only personal information we ever receive is what you type into the contact form. If you never use that form, we never hold personal information about you at all.

1. What we collect

Information you give us

When you send a message through our contact form we receive:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • the topic you selected and the text of your message;
  • whether you ticked the optional box asking for new-game announcements.

Nothing on that form is pre-ticked. The announcement list is entirely optional and you are not subscribed to anything by sending a message.

Information collected automatically

Our web server keeps standard access logs, as virtually all web servers do. A log line contains your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, the referring page and your browser's user-agent string. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting — to spot an attack or work out why a page broke — and are deleted on a rolling 30-day cycle.

We do not run Google Analytics, a tag manager, an advertising pixel or any third-party tracking script on this site. There is no analytics cookie unless you switch analytics on yourself in our cookie settings, and at the time of writing no analytics product is installed at all.

Information stored on your own device

Your best scores, your star ratings and your sound preference are written to your own browser's local storage by the game you are playing. That data never leaves your device and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data removes it. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.

2. Why we collect it (purpose)

InformationPurposeHow long we keep it
Name, email, messageTo read and answer your message24 months, then deleted
Announcement opt-inTo email you when a new game goes liveUntil you unsubscribe
Server access logsSecurity, abuse prevention, debugging30 days
Consent record (cookie)To remember your cookie choice6 months

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we never sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.

3. Consent

We rely on your consent, which you give by choosing to send us a message. You may withdraw it at any time by emailing [email protected]; we will delete the correspondence unless we are legally required to keep it.

Commercial email is opt-in only, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). The announcement checkbox is unticked by default, every announcement email identifies us and carries a working unsubscribe link, and unsubscribe requests are actioned promptly. We keep a record of when and how consent was given, as CASL requires.

4. Limiting collection, use and disclosure

We collect only what is needed to answer you. We use it only for the purpose it was collected for. We disclose it to no one, with two narrow exceptions:

  • Our hosting provider, which necessarily processes traffic to serve the site;
  • A lawful authority, where we are legally compelled to respond to a valid order.

There are no advertising partners, data brokers, analytics vendors or social platforms in that list, because we do not use any.

5. Where your information is stored

Our website and mail are hosted on servers located in Canada. If that ever changes, information may be processed in another country and would then be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access requests by its courts and authorities. We will update this policy before any such change takes effect.

6. Accuracy and safeguards

We keep what we hold accurate and current for the purpose it is used. Protection is proportionate to sensitivity: the site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are validated on the server, access to the mailbox is limited to team members who need it and protected by multi-factor authentication, and correspondence is deleted on the schedule set out above.

No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure. If a privacy breach ever created a real risk of significant harm, we would notify affected individuals and the relevant regulator as required by law.

7. Children

Our games are family friendly and we welcome younger players, but this site is not designed to collect information from children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has sent us their details, write to us and we will delete the message.

8. Your rights — access and correction

You may ask us, at any time and free of charge:

  • whether we hold personal information about you, and what it is;
  • how it has been used and to whom it has been disclosed;
  • to correct anything inaccurate;
  • to delete it, where we have no legal reason to keep it;
  • to withdraw your consent for future use.

Email [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy request", or write to the postal address below. We respond within 30 days, as PIPEDA requires. We may ask you to confirm your identity so that we do not disclose someone else's information to the wrong person.
