Cookie Policy

Last updated July 20, 2026 · Applies to gamerspotter.com

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. Some sites use dozens of them to follow you around the internet. We use two, both of them ours, and neither one tracks you anywhere.

This site loads no advertising, no analytics product and no third-party script of any kind. Nothing optional is stored until you choose it in the cookie settings panel, which you can reopen at any time from the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

Categories we use

Essential — always on

These make the site function. They remember the decision you made about cookies and the settings a game needs to behave the way you left it. Without them the cookie banner would reappear on every page and your best scores would vanish between visits. They store no identifiers and are never shared.

Analytics — off unless you turn it on

If enabled, this category would count page views and which games get opened so that we could tell what to build next. It is off by default and, as of the date at the top of this page, no analytics product is installed on this site. If we ever add one, it will only load after you switch this category on, and this page will be updated first.

Marketing — off unless you turn it on

If enabled, this category would let us measure whether a visit arrived from an advertisement we placed. It is off by default and nothing in this category is currently installed. We do not run behavioural advertising and we never sell what we collect.

The full list

NameTypeCategoryWhat it doesExpires
gs_consent Cookie (first-party) Essential Stores your cookie choice so the banner does not ask again. 6 months
gs_rate_[game] Browser storage (first-party) Essential Remembers the star rating you gave a game, so the page can show it back to you. Until you clear browser data
gs_best_[game] Browser storage (first-party) Essential Your personal best score in that game. Held on your device only; we cannot read it. Until you clear browser data
gs_sound Browser storage (first-party) Essential Whether you muted game sound, so it stays muted next time. Until you clear browser data

"Browser storage" is a companion mechanism to cookies: the value is written by your own browser and, unlike a cookie, it is never attached to a request to our server. That is why your scores stay private to your device.

Third-party cookies

There are none. The games are served from our own domain and run inside a frame on our own pages. The only external request the site makes is to Google Fonts for the two typefaces used in the design, which delivers font files and sets no cookie. No social widgets, no embedded video players, no comment systems, no share buttons.

Changing your mind

  • On this site: open Cookie Settings in the footer, adjust the switches and save. Turning a category off stops it immediately.
  • Rejecting everything: the Reject All button keeps only the essential category. Nothing on the site is blocked or degraded as a result — every game still plays.
  • In your browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge all let you block or delete cookies and site data under Settings → Privacy. Clearing site data for gamerspotter.com resets your consent record and your saved scores.

Consent signals

Our pages declare a denied-by-default consent state for advertising and analytics storage before any script runs, so a tag added in future cannot store anything until you have opted in. This follows Google Consent Mode v2 defaults.
